Thermoelectric Coolers (TECs) are widely used in electronic heat dissipation and temperature control for their high efficiency, no noise, and vibration-free advantages. 1. TEC Working Principle


Based on the Peltier Effect, TECs transfer heat between two sides when DC current passes through P-type and N-type semiconductor thermocouples, creating a cold side and a hot side. No compressor or refrigerant is needed, enabling miniaturization and precise temperature control.

• Operating Current (I): An optimal current exists—too low weakens cooling, too high increases Joule heat.

• Temperature Difference (Th-Tc): Larger difference reduces cooling power; effective hot-side heat dissipation is critical.

• Material Properties: Figure of merit determines TEC performance limit.
